Secondary school
I’ve always been drawn to making things - from oil painting to designing brutalist posters inspired by music. I’d say it all started back in my GCSEs when I took art and fell completely in love with it. I would paint for hours on end and even took it in A-Levels!
I loved painting portraits, especially focusing on the tiny details like wrinkles, freckles, fine lines that capture what makes us human and reflect the emotions we’ve experienced throughout life :)
My favourite fine art mediums are oil paints, acrylic paints, charcoal, and fine line pens.
Architecture undergrad
I started my undergraduate degree in Manchester and the first project was so fun. We had to pick a song, and get inspired by it to create a pavillion (I picked Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb). Finally, being at university, I realised what research papers are.
But honestly, I loved it. I did a big research paper about the human form in architecture, and how it reflects through Daniel Liebskind's building forms. My second year project was all about biommetic designs - I was really inspired by fossils and shells, and created a pavillion as a space to bring together local artists and musicians.
In my third year, I based my project on capitalism, inspired by movies like Blade Runner. I created an almost evil looking tower, towering over the whole city, really showing a dystopian world where offices are just numbers and hiring more and more, losing a sense of humanity (bit dark, but, design is one of the ways to get across these concepts).
COVID 2020
I was still doing my undergrad degree here, but, during the summer, I had a lot of free time in the house. I was staying in Scotland with my brother who is a doctor, so I really had to be careful about the virus so it didn't impact him and his patients.
I taught myself the fundamentals of graphic design, learned some new software, and really put myself out there on Fiverr to start doing a bit of work. Musicians got in contact with me, and I absolutely loved listening to their tracks and getting inspired to create designs inspired by them.
architecture MASTERs
I did the big move from Manchester to Dublin to start my masters in architecture! UCD was definetly more research heavy, and I really enjoyed that.
UX/UI MASTERs
I’ve always been drawn to the art of making; from oil painting to designing brustlist posters, inspired by music. I would say this creative side to me started when I was doing my GCSE's. I took art and absolutely fell in love with it, I would paint all day. It all started when I got into painting skulls (sounds a bit grim, but, you have to start somewhere),
Painting and drawing naturally led to a similar undergraduate degree. I ended up doing architecture (unforuntely, through Covid). During my course, I really got into creating cool graphics and diagrams, and graphs funnily enough. Through Covid, I thought to put myself out there and take on some freelancing roles on Fiverr, and it really pushed me to do some personal graphic design projects which I loved, especially music posters. I love listening to all types of
For me, creating is more than visuals; it’s a way to capture feeling, tell stories, and transform imagination into form.
